Richmond American Homes has furnished models available

Published: Oct 17, 2006

Seeing a finished, furnished and finely fashioned home can help us visualize what a new home will look like.

That's the benefit of looking at model homes before buying a house or even while your own house is under construction, and it's the reason Suzanne Neff, president for the Tampa division of Richmond American Homes, is urging area buyers to take time to tour Richmond American's newly furnished model homes.

"Actually walking in a home that has the same floor plan, dimensions and design features can really make your own home a reality," Neff said.

"Seems there's nothing like seeing something for ourselves."

And that opportunity to see the home first-hand is increasing for area home buyers with the recent opening of several model homes by Richmond American Homes.

In both Hillsborough and Hernando counties, these model homes give buyers a preview of the design and architectural features that are signature to Richmond American Homes.

"We've gone to lot of effort to create certain looks," Neff said.

The models are in two communities.

In Hernando County, two models by Richmond American Homes can be found in the Villages of Avalon, a community that features a range of amenities for residents, including a community center, a clubhouse, a swimming pool and nearby parks.

The first model in the Villages of Avalon is the Wentworth. The home, which sits on a 50-foot-wide lot, has 2,800 square feet of living space with four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a three-car garage. The model as shown is $326,000, but the Wentworth design can be built on other lots in the Villages of Avalon from $289,000, including lot.

The second model in the Villages of Avalon is the Bougainvillea. This two-story home has 2,840 square feet of living space and features three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a loft space. As shown, the Bougainvillea is priced at $304,990, but the design can be built elsewhere in the Villages of Avalon from $224,990, including lot.

In Hillsborough County, Richmond American Homes has completed models in Shady Creek.

"Shady Creek is in an excellent location for homeowners," Neff said.

"Families will have easy access to work and play from Shady Creek. And the homes are provided with higher-quality standard features than most homes, meaning you can move in and not really have to upgrade."

Corian counter tops and 42-inch cabinets in the kitchens are examples of features offered in some of their homes, she said.

The same Bougainvillea design in the Villages of Avalon can be found in Shady Creek priced from $315,990, including lot.

Also in Shady Creek is the Cassia model, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with 1,855 square feet of living space that is priced from $251,990.

More model homes are scheduled to open this fall as well, Neff said, including Tanglewood Preserve (in south Hillsborough County).

Richmond American Homes has been building in the Tampa Bay area for a couple of years. Several communities in Manatee County were well received and sold out quickly, including Boccage, a community with 22 estate homes.

To reach the Villages of Avalon in Hernando County from Tampa, take the Suncoast Parkway to County Line Road (Exit 37). Drive west for about three-quarters of a mile and the community is on the right.

To visit Shady Creek in south Hillsborough County, take Interstate 75 to Big Bend Road (Exit 246). Drive east to U.S. 301. Turn south and drive one-half mile. Shady Creek is on the left.
